Skógafoss waterfall in Iceland
TIMELESS VEIL

An iconic treasure of the southern coast, the powerful Skógafoss flows under a typically moody Iceland sky. Stripping away the color of this scene, made for a quieter image that better showed off her elegance with a long exposure.

A river flowing between sunlit canyon walls with three small waterfalls entering the scene on the right that flow into the larger river.
BIG SPRINGS

Hiking through The Narrows at Zion National Park means following the Virgin River upstream. Along the way, these stunning scenes of the river and sunlit canyon walls will simply take your breath away.

A geyser as seen from above surrounded by light rocks where you can see straight into the pool into the deep blue waters.
EYE OF THE WHITE WALKER

Iceland has provided many scenic locations for 'Game of Thrones' including the Skogafoss waterfall, Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Fjadrargljufur Canyon, and Dimmuborgir was featured three times. White Walkers are human-like creatures that have ice-blue eyes. As a GoT fan, this aerial image of a geothermal pool in Iceland brought me back to the show and the blue eyes of the White Walkers.

Waterfalls fall many levels in front of a mountain seen in the distance with white and gray clouds in the sky.
REFRESHED

Cascading waterfalls near Mount Reynolds are fed from summer run off as the snow melts and flows down the streams. As I watched and waited on this morning until the storm clouds finally started to clear and the sun peeked through.

Sea stacks on the Oregon coast surrounded by ocean waves and darky clouds in the sky with a rainbow in the distance.
PIRATE SHIPS

While Cannon Beach is well for Haystack Rock along the coast of Oregon, Bandon Beach brings three miles of haystacks along the Oregon coast. This was a dark and stormy day that finally managed to let the sun peek through to bring out a rainbow and light up the crashing ocean waves.

At the volcanic rock shore line water cascades into large holes that fill up with water that then rushes out.
THE RUSH

This beach sunset on the Big Island of Hawaii isn't what most people imagine but it is a mesmerizing scene to be caught up in. The water rushes in and out of these blow holes near the shore with a force so incredible that great care needs to be taken when photographing. I treasure these moments of capturing the beauty of the light and the power of the ocean waves.
