An iconic treasure of the southern coast, the powerful Skógafoss flows under a typically moody Iceland sky. Stripping away the color of this scene, made for a quieter image that better showed off her elegance with a long exposure.

Hiking through The Narrows at Zion National Park means following the Virgin River upstream. Along the way, these stunning scenes of the river and sunlit canyon walls will simply take your breath away.

Iceland has provided many scenic locations for 'Game of Thrones' including the Skogafoss waterfall, Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Fjadrargljufur Canyon, and Dimmuborgir was featured three times. White Walkers are human-like creatures that have ice-blue eyes. As a GoT fan, this aerial image of a geothermal pool in Iceland brought me back to the show and the blue eyes of the White Walkers.

Cascading waterfalls near Mount Reynolds are fed from summer run off as the snow melts and flows down the streams. As I watched and waited on this morning until the storm clouds finally started to clear and the sun peeked through.

While Cannon Beach is well for Haystack Rock along the coast of Oregon, Bandon Beach brings three miles of haystacks along the Oregon coast. This was a dark and stormy day that finally managed to let the sun peek through to bring out a rainbow and light up the crashing ocean waves.

This beach sunset on the Big Island of Hawaii isn't what most people imagine but it is a mesmerizing scene to be caught up in. The water rushes in and out of these blow holes near the shore with a force so incredible that great care needs to be taken when photographing. I treasure these moments of capturing the beauty of the light and the power of the ocean waves.

The turquoise waters of Spirit Falls make it one of the prettiest waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest. Add a fresh foot of snow, and it takes the scenery to another level. Hiking down and up the steep trail on this day was a bit of a challenge, as my friend and I were the first to make our way in. Each step we took sank deep into the snow, unsure of what to expect or whether the mist from this powerful waterfall would prevent the powder from sticking. But when we laid eyes on it—its electric blue water against untouched snow—we knew we were witnessing something truly special.

A field of purple lupine covers the ground in this little meadow with a perfect eye level view of Mount Rainier framed up with pine trees. With the sun just peeking over the ridge line at the day's end backlighting all of these flowers with golden light it's a heavenly scene in the higher elevations of this glorious national park.

Light shines through a canopy of old oak trees covered in Spanish moss on the oldest plantation in Georgia. There are over 400 live oak trees on this plantation all 300-400 years old.

There's something special about hiking through the forest and hearing the waterfall before you see it. This time it was such an amazing reveal with the lush, vibrant green all around and this pocket waterfall. I took more than a few moments to just sit back and take this one in before I even broke out my camera.

The McKenzie River plunges 100 feet over a natural lava damn at Sahalie Falls. The Chinook name 'Sahalie' means heaven, which this little slice of of the Willamette National Forest certainly appears to be.

Fall Creek Falls is a beautiful set of cascading falls. There are actually 4 separate falls that tumble over 200 feet in total which make it one of the largest and most powerful waterfalls in the state.

An Atlantic Puffin gazing out from its perch in the cliffs of Dyrhólaey in southern Iceland. The adorable birds nest here and can be seen during the months of June through August while tending to their young.

The Florida coast offers some beautiful sunset scenes. This one is near the Loxahatchee River where the red 1860 Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse offers stunning views but with the colorful clouds, setting sun, and rushing water, I was pretty stuck on this view.
