Molten lava flows over the freshly formed volcanic crust, already cooled and hardened, in the valley at Fagradalsfjall, Iceland. Photographing this at night with my drone, the river of fire branched out like a tree, glowing brightly through the darkness and revealing every detail. I spent the entire night capturing this incredible natural phenomenon, photographing as many angles as I could from the air. Tighter shots like this were among my favorites from an experience that will forever be etched in my mind, just as these lava rivers are etched into the earth.
