Iceland (2018)
The river deltas in the highlands of Iceland create some of the most natural, abstract scenes I have ever witnessed. Only visible from above, you would have no idea this landscape exists by standing at the river’s edge. I photographed this during my very first flight over these river systems, and since then, every flight has been filled with the same anticipation and excitement. While you have an idea and a hope of what you'll see, it’s always a surprise until you're actually in the air. But you never forget your first time. These waters seem to flow in every direction at once, yet all ultimately lead to the sea. They fold over and under themselves, with tendrils curving tightly and precisely, yet also randomly. It’s beautiful and mesmerizing. This particular image stood out to me, resembling the famous Greek goddess with her head of snakes
